About Us

The Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (MCVFRA) represents 19 independent local fire and rescue departments in Montgomery County, Maryland. Our purpose is to support and strengthen the volunteer fire and rescue service so that the people of Montgomery County receive the highest level of emergency response.

The Association provides input and recommendations to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Chief, the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Commission, the County Executive, the County Council, and state officials on issues that affect the delivery of fire and rescue services. Each member department appoints its President, its Chief, and one alternate delegate to represent the department within the Association.

The MCVFRA holds its regular membership meetings on the third Thursday of each month. Meetings are held virtually or hosted by a member department. For the full meeting schedule, please visit our calendar page or contact us.
